Early Experience With the Intel iPsc/860 At Oak Ridge National Laboratory

This report summarizes the early experience in using the Intel iPSC/860 parallel supercomputer at Oak Ridge Na tional Laboratory. The hardware and software are de scribed in some detail, and the machine's performance is studied using both simple computational kernels and a number of complete applications programs.
